THE SKIN DISCOVERY
How does the skin assessment work?
You answer a short series of visual questions about how your skin feels and behaves — no jargon, no forms. Our engine combines your answers with dermatology-informed rules to map your skin type, concerns and preferences, then composes a routine matched to that profile. It takes about 5 minutes.
What is the skin balance score?
A non-medical wellness indicator across five dimensions — hydration, oil balance, barrier support, texture and even tone — derived from your self-reported answers. It's a way to track how your skin feels over time, not a clinical measurement.
Do I have to upload photos?
Never. Photos are entirely optional and only add context. You choose whether to add them, you can retake or delete them at any point, and they're stored privately — never used for anything without your explicit consent.
YOUR ACCOUNT & PRIVACY
Why do you sign me in with an email code instead of a password?
One less password in the world. We send a one-time code to your email — it expires in 5 minutes, is stored only as a cryptographic hash, and there's nothing for you to remember or for anyone to steal.
What happens to my photos?
They're stored in private object storage under your account, never in a public location and never in our database. Only you can view them, they're used solely for your own progress tracking, and deleting them from your dashboard removes them permanently.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Photos can be deleted individually at any time, and you can request full account deletion — assessments, analyses, routines and photos included.
PRODUCTS & ROUTINES
How are products chosen for me?
Deterministically and transparently. Every product is scored against your profile — skin type fit, concern relevance, ingredient benefits, your texture, fragrance and budget preferences, and known ingredient conflicts. You can read the exact reason behind every recommendation.
Why are there Simple and Complete routines?
Because the best routine is the one you'll actually do. Simple keeps it to the essentials — cleanse, moisturize, protect. Complete layers in targeted treatments. Both are built from your profile; switch between them freely.
My skin reacted to a recommended product. What should I do?
Every skin is personal. Introduce new products one at a time and give each two to three weeks to settle in. If something doesn't feel right, simply pause it — retake the assessment anytime and your routine adapts with you.
Still curious?
The fastest answer is the assessment itself — five minutes, no typing.
